Studio EMP are an architectural practice specialising in modern, minimal residential design. Working across London, Surrey and Kent, we deliver carefully crafted home extensions, renovations and new-build houses that balance clean, contemporary aesthetics with practical living.
Founded by architect Elizabeth Partington, we are known for spaces that are light-filled and elegantly understated that maximise both style and functionality. Our work is characterised by refined simplicity with thoughtful detailing to create spacious and beautiful homes.

ELIZABETH PARTINGTON
Architect / Director
Elizabeth studied BA(hons) Architecture at De Montfort University and both DipArch and MArch at the University of Portsmouth, qualifying as an Architect in 2010.
Originally entering the retail sector, she worked at Haskoll Architects as part of a large team on shopping centre design. At JCA Architects she continued to work on retail projects but also on some smaller educational buildings. These smaller projects became more interesting because of the closer relationship with the client and end users. These lead her to pursue a job in the residential sector at Paul Archer Design.
It was working as a project runner and Architect for over 6 years with Paul that she developed a passion for modern, minimal design. Being able to solve the clients needs to create a home, and seeing the family happy at the end of a project is very rewarding.
This interest continues at Studio EMP where she aims to produce beautiful contemporary designs for her clients.
