A three bedroom new build home with spacious living area to the ground floor. Designed to look smaller by lowering the building into the ground so as not to look too squeezed onto the site.

The single storey rear extension to a ground floor flat will vastly improve the living spaces within the apartment. The living area is located in the new extension with the kitchen behind. Large sliding doors and a glazed corner provide a great connection to the garden and fill the space with light, whilst an external trellis provides privacy from the neighbours.

We were asked to improve the kitchen to this beautiful period property. The kitchen was too small for the property with a disconnected tv area. These are the concept designs providing 3 different solutions to the brief.

This single storey rear extension enlarges the kitchen/dining room and provides a better connection to the garden. The wide plot allows for the height of the extension to be raised in the centre to give some drama to the interior, with rooflights providing plenty of light into the space. Extending the side garage allows for a large utility room to be created with a similar aesthetic to the rear extension.
Studio EMP were appointed for concepts to planning and then the clients worked directly with the builder on site to completion.

A single storey rear extension to a 1990’s townhouse creates a larger kitchen dining area with sitting area. The clients wanted a better connection to the garden to allow the children to play in the garden and be seen from the house.
These are the concept designs. We gained planning approval and provided detail design for the project and the clients liaised with the builders directly whilst onsite.

We were appointed to design a rear extension to this 1930’s house. The clients required an improved kitchen/dining space with a better connection to the garden and a new art studio which could also be used as an office.
Studio EMP provided concept designs and gained planning approval a and then the clients are working directly with the builder during construction.

The clients at this semi-detached property had previously added a single storey rear extension to their home. However, the layout wasn’t really working for them so they appointed us to review the plan and solve their issues. The original extension was the structure to the left with the 4 sliding folding doors, we then proposed adding the section to the right which projects slightly. This small extension allows for relocating the kitchen which then has a better connection to the dining area, in tern giving a much larger living area with much better access to the garden.
Studio EMP gained planning approval for the project and the clients are worked directly with the builder on construction of the extension. We remained on hand to assist with design issues when necessary.
