Being on the end of the terrace, this house was wider than average and had a much larger garden. This meant that the usual side extension we are often appointed to design could take a different form as there was no direct neighbour. Taking advantage of this we designed a butterfly roof that allowed larger rear windows to the extension allowing more light and a better connection to the garden. The extension also has a large window to the side bringing light into the centre of the plan. The existing building was opened up to the new extension to create a large kitchen-dining area.
